In a world of online-only multiplayer experiences, couch co-op is a welcome addition. Currently, local split-screen isn’t available for solo matches, so one-vs-one bouts are still relegated to online play only.Įpic has promised to “continue to improve the feature,” but there’s no word on what that might entail.
The latest update for the popular arena shooter brings local split-screen co-op for the Duo and Squad gameplay modes. However, Fortnite has brought the feature back to living rooms around the world… at least, for the PS4 and Xbox One.
While online multiplayer was a welcome addition to games when it debuted during the last decade, it slowly killed off a staple of multiplayer gaming: couch co-op.
